I love this pattern and the finished sweater is pretty adorable, but I have to say this yarn was a challenge to photograph.
The play of pink yarn with some dark black undertones were a challenge to capture on film.
The Yarn is Madeline Tosh Light in Night Bloom.
I absolutely love the construction of this sweater, which is basically raglan with the insertion of lace panels at the shoulders as well as little lace leaves along the bottom border.
The yarn reads as pink or purple depending on the light – so it was a challenge to choose buttons. Everything just seemed off. In the end I went with these grey/purple buttons.
This sweater is sized for a 6 month to 12 year old baby.
Since it is Sunday evening at 11:00pm and Andy just downloaded the latest episode of the Newsroom (my current favourite TV show), I’m going to leave it at that. Much of the project details are on the previous posting about the sweater, over here.
much love always,
p.s. I have some great photos and new yarn purchase from Victoria’s Fibrations that I will show you in the next couple of days. I was absolutely wowed by some of the yarns, and my new yarn crush is… (spoiler alert) Caterpillar Green Yarns based in Victoria. More to come on that, I promise! They officially lauch in just a few days.
